Please reach out to us if you can't find an answer to your question.
It's the most common question we get. The short answer is- it depends. We know, that answer sucks. But there's just not any good way to quote a accurate 'per-minute' price without a lot of detail. We've worked on :30 TV spots that cost millions of dollars and completed 30 minute videos that cost less than $5k.
We like to compare video production to building a house. Many factors influence the final cost of a house. Like where is it located? How many bedrooms? Number of bathrooms? Multi-story? What types of finishes? Does it have a pool, a five car detached garage, wine cellar? Do you need it built in 20 days or by sometime next year? The details are endless and each choice affects the final cost.
Likewise with a video, timing, production value, length, style, graphics embellishments, versions, intended audience(s), etc. will all factor into the final cost. The best, and only, way to know is to give us a call or drop a line. We'll ask a bunch of questions and the more detail you know, the more accurate our estimate will be. We've been around a long time and have seen lots of projects, so with enough detail, we can get you a very accurate estimate. But we can usually get fairly close with a few key details too if you're early in the development phase, please reach out to us.
Everything is a rush at Dubs, Inc. For 'simple' projects like transcoding, captioning or archiving, we can generally give you a upfront cost and we'll begin processing material as soon as we receive it. Many times we will be able to turn-around projects within 24 hours or even faster.
For editorial, design or production projects, give us a call or drop a line and we'll get the ball rolling from there.
We accept Venmo, Visa and Mastercard. Please note, we charge a 5% convenience fee for each credit card transaction.
For returning clients, we can offer terms for ongoing invoicing. Please contact us for details or to set up a account.
As much or as little as you want! It's your project after all! We are happy to help you achieve your vision in any way we can and will contribute our creative ideas as much or as little as you'd like.
No, but we can do certain things like upscaling SD to HD as we capture. That doesn't 'improve' the image though. There may also be ways to enhance the video once it's captured. Color grading, noise reduction, etc. may all be considered afterwards.
Capturing from videotape is a real time process plus the time to evaluate each tape, possibly bake it, set up appropriate deck. Then there's the time to check and transfer the captured files to a drive or the cloud. Generally figure 2 x running time to be safe, it gets more efficient the longer the tape is.
We can handle HDCAM SR, HDCAM, DVCProHD, and HDV. NTSC formatted DVCAM, DVCPro, Digibeta, BetaSP, Betacam, MiniDV, 3/4" UMatic, SVHS, VHS, 8mm and Hi8. We can also capture audio from DAT and analog cassettes. We also can handle PAL formatted BetaSP, Betacam and Digibeta.
We will create whatever file type you need, whether that's just for viewing or for further editing. Potential formats include: ProRes (any 'flavor'), Uncompressed, h.264, HEVC, .mp4, .mkv, .avi, etc. We can create just about any specific file type you'd like, just ask!
We capture whatever is on the tape as closely as possible to it's original form. So for Digibeta for example, we capture 720 x 486, .9 PAR, 29.97 (for NTSC) interlaced files with audio that matches what's on tape, if present. For HDCAM SR, a file may be anything from 1280 x 720 @ 59.94 fps to 1920 x 1080 @ 23.976 with 4:4:4 color for example. Ask us about this when you contact us.
Depends on the issues, severity and finished expectations. Let us evaluate and estimate for you!
Yes. Cost is determined by length of shot and complexity, please ask us to evaluate and give you a estimate.
